LO: given a number, identify one more and one less

**POWERPOINTS:**

**1 more 1 less:** shows one more and one less on a number line.
**Adding 1 more marble:** asks the question 'How many marbles will there be if we add one more?' then visually adds one more marble. Gives the children chance to count and check.
**One less marble:** asks the question 'How many marbles will there be if we take one away?', then visually takes one away, giving the children chance to count and check.
**One less than (numbers to 50): **Random numbers for children to say which number is one less than
**One more than (numbers to 50): **Random numbers for children to say which number is one more than

LO: identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least

**Rearranging and counting objects:** Demonstrates and explains that even if objects are arranged, the number stays the same.

**Comparing numbers to 10:** looks at more than/less than, firstly pictorial then with numerals.

**Ordinal numbers:** explains ordinal numbers, then there is a game, where people are lined up, and the children have to choose the correct ordinal number that matches the position of the person in the line.
