  • Plants and animals introduction - Defines what plants and animals are, and differences between them. Explains that all living things grow, change, and reproduce.
  • Animals in the local environment - 18 different animals (including insects and birds) that the children might find in the local environment, explaining where they live, and what they eat.
  • Plants in the local environment - Pictures of 15 common plants the children might find in the local environment.
  • Different habitats - Explains the needs of both plants and animals, and how this influences their habitats; shows a variety of habitats for the children to work out what plants and animals would live there, and 5 animals for the children to work out what needs would be met in their habitats.
  • Flowering plants - Explains that flowering plants produce seeds, and shows a variety of plants containing seeds; shows 6 different types of seeds and the plants they grow into.
  • Seed dispersal - explains different ways of seed dispersal; flying, popping, sticking, carrying, and burying.
  • Life cycle of a plant - Explains all the stages of plant growth, with a diagram of the life cycle of a plant.
  • Life cycle of a frog - Explains in depth all the stages of growth from tadpole to frog, with a diagram of the life cycle of a frog.
  • Life cycles - Diagrams of the life cycles of: a chicken, frog, butterfly and bee.
