Phonics games to play - Voice sounds, Metal Mike, Toy Talk, Clapping sounds, Percy the Pirate, and printable sheets, including 3 phoneme object cards to play in Which one / Cross the river / I spy games.
These activities will help children to begin to blend and segment by learning how to distinguish between the differences in vocal sounds.


  • Voice Sounds - An illustrated show of 30 different voice sounds. This can also be printed out.
  • Metal Mike - Sound out the pictures in robot talk, then move them into Metal Mike's TV tum. There are 20 objects to sound out.


  • Toy Talk in the kitchen - Teddy finds different 3 phoneme objects in the kitchen. It can be used for oral blending and segmenting.
  • Toy Talk in school - Teddy finds familiar 3 phoneme objects in school. The show can be used for oral blending and segmenting.
  • Which one? - There are 6 3-phoneme object on each page, to be sounded out for the children to pick.
  • Clapping sounds - 9 pictures using the letters 's a t p i n' for the children to sound out and clap.
  • Percy the Pirate - Percy sounds out a word, the children have to click on the correct picture (out of 3).


  • 3 phoneme object cards - a pdf file with objects to print out, to use in the Which one / Cross the river / I spy games.
  • Toy Talk Teddy / pirate puppets - 2 pdf files to print out for the children to use in role play.
